HNRG HYBRID PANEL, THE EVOLUTION OF SOLAR ENERGYELECTRICITY AND THERMAL ENERGY IN THE SAME PANEL
HNRG hybrid panel: PV systems cooling
The heat exchanger on the back of the PV module keeps the temperature of the PV cells close to the STC value (25°C).
This allows the photovoltaic cells to work at their maximum effciency, maximizing the electrical output in the warmer conditions when the higherm radiation is there.
Because of the high temperature of the cells, in summer traditional photovoltaic modules lose 20-25% of efficiency.
Thanks to the lower temperatures, HNRG’s electric production is about 20% higher.
The total amount of thermal energy taken form the panel depends on 2 factors: the first is the difference between the temperatures of the PV module and the temperature of the fluid flowing through the panel; the second is the flow rate of the fluid.
What the HNRG system does in winter is very important; it defrosts the panels so that the production of electrical and thermal energy is guaranteed after heavy snowfall as well.
